Welcome to the Robotobzor! Today I want to present you a new trend in the robot vacuum cleaner market. We are talking about robots that can clean mops at a special station during the cleaning process. This is not yet a full-fledged washing robot vacuum cleaner, but it is already a rolling option that has proven itself better than the usual robot vacuum cleaners for dry and wet cleaning. What is the advantage and which robot vacuum cleaners with self-cleaning mopping station have already appeared on sale and will be actively sold in 2022 – will discuss it today. Let’s go!

What`s interesting about self-cleaning mopping station?

The main problem with robot vacuum cleaners with a wet cleaning function is that during the cleaning process, the cloth is filled with dust. So, the larger the cleaning area, the longer the robot will simply smear the collected dirt on the floor. Of course, if we are talking about daily maintenance of cleanliness and the original condition of the floor covering practically does not require cleaning, the problem of smearing dust is not critical. But if we are talking about more difficult conditions or just the need to bring the cleaning process with robots to perfection – here the wet cleaning is not the best function.

Of course, you can rinse the napkin yourself and install a clean one every 15-30 minutes, interrupting the cleaning process, but then its whole main function is lost. We want the robot vacuum cleaner to completely replace manual labor!

So, a relatively new solution – is robot vacuum cleaners with a self-cleaning mopping station. The bottom line is that there are 2 tanks installed inside the station – for clean and dirty water. The robot leaves the base, starts the cleaning process, then after a certain time it returns to the base and rinses the napkin. Clean water is supplied to the platform, where this napkin is rinsed, after which the dirty water is collected in the tank, and the robot vacuum cleaner resumes cleaning from the place where it left off. But already the napkin will be clean, and the quality of wet cleaning will be much better, no matter what the area is! A new level of wet cleaning in robot vacuum cleaners! And, looking ahead, wanna note that in 2022 a big number of such devices will appear. They discuss them now.

Review of the released robot vacuum cleaners with the function of self-cleaning mop

Narwal T10

One of the first, if not the first in this segment, is the Narwal T10 robot vacuum cleaner, which was announced in early 2020 and caused a lot of discussions abroad.

It is actively sold in the US and other countries. The official website lists the price of $ 950, which is quite okay for such a product. Now, this robot vacuum cleaner is not officially sold in Russian Federation and some other countries. From available options, there is only the ability to order from China from the website Aliexpress.

The robot vacuum cleaner has a lidar for navigation and two rotating platforms with napkins, which, if necessary, can be exchanged for the usual side brushes. Some reviewers are giving a good review to the product, and I really hope that next year we will make a review of this device!

ECOVACS DEEBOT N9+

Following Narwal, the ECOVACS DEEBOT N9 + was introduced to the market. The Ecovacs company specializes in the production of robot vacuum cleaners and it is worth recognizing that their products are of high quality, and the updating of functionality is very modern. So, the DEEBOT N9 + model has a similar station for washing napkins, as well as a similar module with two rotating napkins. The main design difference is that the camera is responsible for navigation, not the lidar. However, the robot builds an accurate map of the room and is equipped with all the advanced functionality to maintain cleanliness in the house and, most importantly, high-quality wet cleaning.

The robot vacuum cleaner is available to order from China. There are slight difficulties when registering an account and connecting the robot to a Wi-Fi network. This requires a Chinese phone number (to activate your account). But the seller, when ordering a robot, provides the data for logging into your account, they remain for you, the password can be changed if you wish so that no one else gets control of your robot. Deebot N9 + price is about $700, which is more profitable.

ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI

Following the N9 +, Ecovacs brand released an updated ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI robot vacuum cleaner at the end of 2021. Its special feature is that the station is capable not only of rinsing a napkin during the cleaning process, but also of self-cleaning the dust collector in a robot vacuum cleaner.

In addition, a lidar has already been installed on board, which more accurately builds a map of the room and, apparently, expands the functionality of the robot vacuum cleaner. But that’s not all. ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI is equipped with an active camera on the bumper, thanks to which it detects objects on the floor and carefully avoids them during the cleaning process. Also, the camera can be connected remotely from a smartphone to monitor the house if necessary.

Cleaning module based on two rotating wipes at the back, two side brushes in the front and a main turbo brush in the center. At first, it seems that ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI is the best robot vacuum cleaner of the first half of 2022. But how it will perform and how effective the implemented cleaning system is – I will say after testing. Hopefully soon it will be possible to order this device for review. It is not cheap, the price is starting from $1200. But of course, the implemented feature set justifies the price.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

On January 4, at the world famous CES 2022 exhibition, the new robot vacuum cleaner from Roborock brand was presented. The model`s name is Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. One of the key features of the model is a self-cleaning station that comes with the most advanced version of the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. This station is capable of both: Auto Dust Emptying and Auto Mop-Cleaning. Now it is possible, as the station has not only a container for dust, but also two tanks: for clean and dirty water. Moreover, at the station, the robot can refuel with clean water from the station’s tank.

The next major upgrade was noticed in object recognition system that was previously implemented in the Roborock S6 MaxV. The updated technology is called ReactiveAI 2.0. In addition to the active camera, a system of 3D sensors and an RGB camera are installed on board. Roborock S7 MaxV detects objects on the floor extremely accurately for further avoiding them during cleaning. In this case, all identified items are displayed with the corresponding icons on the map.

The cleaning module remains the same when compared to the previously released Roborock S7. The robot vacuum cleaner uses a silicone main brush, a side brush and a vibrating cloth platform for cleaning. When driving onto carpets, the platform with a napkin rises 5 mm upward, which allows the robot to perform dry and wet cleaning at the same time, and even clean the carpets, leaving them dry.

At the moment we are not aware of the price range of Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and when exactly it will be released for sale. But it is confirmed that the robot vacuum cleaner will be sold in three versions: Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra with a base for unloading garbage and mop-cleaning, Roborock S7 MaxV Plus with a station only for unloading garbage from a dust collector, and Roborock S7 MaxV with a conventional charging base.

There is information that the Roborock S7 MaxV series can be ordered from the second quarter of 2022. At the moment, the company has confirmed that the S7 MaxV Ultra will cost $1,399.99 in the US and 1,399 euros in Europe. For comparison, the S7 MaxV Plus will cost 999 euros, and the standard S7 MaxV — 799 euros.

Dreame Bot W10

At the beginning of 2021, at AWE 2021 exhibition, Dreaeme (and this is one of the popular Xiaomi sub-brands), announced the release of a new line of Dreame Bot, which included three models: Dreame Bot L10 Pro, Z10 Pro and W10. So, the first two robot vacuum cleaners came out within a year and already actively selling. I have already posted detailed reviews on these models. But Dreame Bot W10 is not yet available for the purchase in the Russian Federation and some other countries, and at the time of this publication, company representatives cannot give a clear answer when to expect this robot vacuum cleaner to appear in the official store on Aliexpress. But several “gray” offers slipped for $815-880.

Dreame Bot W10 has self-cleaning and drying mopping station, a lidar for navigation and a cleaning system based on a side brush, longer center brush and two rotating discs with napkins in the back. The shape of the case is not round, like in analogs, but closer to the D-shape, which will allow you to better sweep out the dust in the corners. I really look forward to seeing this robot vacuum cleaner on the market and will definitely test it!

Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro (STYTJO6ZHM)

Xiaomi’s Mijia Factory is also catching up and has released a very similar robot vacuum cleaner called Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro. Alternative name Xiaomi No-wash Sweeper Robot PRO. It can also be called Xiaomi Mijia Pro with the article number STYTJ06ZHM (station article number JZ2101). Perhaps the name will change, the robot vacuum cleaner itself looks like this:

It has self-cleaning mopping station, lidar for navigation and a D-shaped body for better collection of dust in the corners. A cleaning module based on a side brush, an elongated central brush and two rotating discs with napkins on the back, behind a turbo brush. They did not come up with nothing unusual, but it is indicated that the napkin is not only rinsed at the base, but also dried after the end of the cleaning cycle. So a wet napkin will not cause an unpleasant odor in the room.

Price starts from $680-720. Sold in several stores, including TookFun, this is a verified store, link below. I will try to order for a review and test this model on the start of 2022!

Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Sweeping Mopping Robot MJSTP

Another Mijia robot vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi, with Self-Cleaning Mopping station, is called Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Sweeping Mopping Robot MJSTP or the alternative name Xiaomi’s No-Wash sweeping robot. Most likely this is not the final name, and the robot may have a different name. Now we only know that the article of this model is MJSTP, and the station is MJSTPQXZ. This is what it looks like:

The main difference from the above-mentioned robot of the Xiaomi line is the cleaning module. Instead of two rotating mops, a platform with a mop is attached to the robot. But this napkin can rise on carpets, as it is implemented in Roborock.

Roidmi EVA

Well, the last of the famous announced / released robotic vacuum cleaners was named Roidmi EVA. Not to be confused with Roidmi EVE Plus, which is already reviewed on the website. The names are similar.

Roidmi is also a sub-brand of Xiaomi and is gaining more and more fame. The new Roidmi EVA can prove itself well and become the best of robot vacuum cleaners with a self-mopping station in 2022. The thing is that the station is equipped not only with a tank for clean and dirty water, but also with a bag for unloading dust from the dust collector. Only Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1 and Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra has such a solution, but unlike Ecovacs and Roborock, this robot vacuum cleaner will definitely cost less. At the start of sales, the price is in the range of $600-750, which is very attractive. The robot vacuum cleaner is not yet available for ordering on Aliexpress. As it appears, I will post a link to purchase.

The Roidmi EVA is equipped not only with a lidar for navigation, but also a sensor system on the mechanical bumper at the front. It is not clear yet whether it is a camera, a ToF sensor or a 3D sensor. So we can`t say whether the robot will recognize objects on the floor or only be able to identify some of them. We’ll find out soon. But we know that the collection of dust is done by the lateral and central brush, behind which two rotating discs with mops are installed. They will just do the wet cleaning. After the official launch of sales on Aliexpress, I will try to order this robot vacuum cleaner for testing. It looks very interesting!
