Hi, everyone! Welcome to Robotobzor! In this article we will review an interesting cordless vacuum cleaner from the Atvel brand. It called Atvel G9. The main feature of this vacuum cleaner is the main nozzle with two rollers of different structure that rotate in opposite directions, throwing litter into the suction port. Also, the Atvel G9 has a high suction power (up to 170 aW), two types of charging stations, and a 6-stage filtration system. Well, remember that you will pay a lot for this new solutions, when talking about the average price for vertical vacuum cleaners. The price of Atvel G9 is $500, which puts the vacuum cleaner in the premium segment. Next, I will test the Atvel G9 in detail and will express my own opinion if it`s worth buying this vacuum cleaner. Let’s start!
Equipment
Atvel G9 was delivered in this branded box:
It contains:
- Floor-mounted charging base with accessories for storing nozzles.
- Extension tube.
- The main nozzle.
- Power adapter.
- Wall-mounted charging base.
- Manual and a short guide from the manufacturer.
- Motorized nozzle for upholstered furniture.
- Brush with soft bristles.
- Extension tube.
- Crevice nozzle.
The equipment kit is good. I think, only spare filters are missing. But, as an option, you can purchase a module for wet cleaning, which is attached to the main nozzle for a same time dry cleaning and wiping the floor with a napkin.
Design
Now let’s see how the Atvel G9 is designed. Will start with the main unit.
An outlet filter of the HEPA-12 class placed at the rare side, a foam filter is additionally installed in front of it.
The power On and Off button is highlighted in red. Next to it is a mechanical mode switch. Well, on the opposite side of the button, we see an informative OLED display, which shows the battery charge level, the selected operating mode and various messages about the status of the vacuum cleaner. For example, that the dust container is full and needs to be emptied.
I think, the place of the control buttons is not very convenient. There is no way to operate the vacuum cleaner with one hand. I have to use my second hand, because the control panel is designed not for “finger press”.
The Atvel G9 has a non-removable battery, which is also not very convenient. But at least you can charge the vacuum cleaner in three different ways: by connecting the adapter directly, by placing the main unit on the floor station, or by hanging it on the wall holder. That`s an advantage.
Let’s go back to the main unit review. For a long time I could not understand how to remove the dust collector. I did not find any release buttons, I could not scroll it, so I even had to read the instructions. And I was shocked how convenient it actually is. You just need to pull the flask up.
The dustbin holds up to 500 ml of dry waste. The flask is marked with the maximum filling level of the container. Another HEPA filter of HEPA10 class for micron-size dust fractions is installed inside. There is a Cyclone for large size objects and a multi-cyclone system for the separation of fine dust. 6-stage filtration system presented in the model.
Moving to the assembly of the Atvel G9 for a working mode. The extension tube and the main nozzle are attached to mechanical clamps, its own, like a flexible hose, as well as a nozzle for cleaning upholstered furniture.
This is how the vacuum cleaner looks fully assembled:
Let’s move on to the review of nozzles. There are 4 pieces in the kit.
Will start with the basic floor nozzle. It has a swivel joint, which increases the performance and mobility of the vacuum cleaner. Look at the rollers, they are additionally protected with a cloth, to avoid scratching the floor when using the vacuum cleaner. A very cool solution, which I have not seen before in vertical vacuum cleaners.
And this is how two rollers look like:
One is fluffy, more suitable for cleaning hard floors, and the other with bristles for more effective cleaning of carpets. At the front there are two LED panels for lighting the cleaning area, very useful for places with poor lighting. Above the brushes is a motor that drives the rollers. The system for removing the rollers is very convenient. You need to hold down two buttons and pull towards you.
As for the nozzle for cleaning upholstered furniture and mattresses, the brush is also easily removed for cleaning from coiled hair and wool. The brush itself is bristly-petal, like in most robot vacuum cleaners.
The soft bristle attachment has a brush height adjuster. Please note that there is no retainer on it, as well as on the Lint brush , which looks quite standard.
I would like to show a Floor-mounted charging base and storing attachments. I liked this solution. Two attachments can be attached on both sides for storing. Here’s how to do it. A very cool solution. Now you don`t need to bother where to store the attachments.
All accessories are collected in one place. Also, when the main unit is installed in the base, the battery is charged, which is very convenient.
Well, the battery is getting charged on the wall holder also, you don`t really need to connect the plug to the socket manually.
We checked the look of the device. The build quality is pretty good. There are no special complaints about the vacuum cleaner.
Technical features
The main characteristics of the Atvel G9:
- Power consumption 535 Watts.
- Suction power up to 170 aW (29000 Pa).
- Battery Li-Ion 2500 mAh, 28.8V.
- The dustbin capacity is 500 ml.
- Operating time in ECO mode – 60 minutes.
- Weight fully assembled 2.9 kg.
- Noise level 73-82 dB.
The characteristics are quite standard for this price segment. I would only like to highlight the weight of the vacuum cleaner in a complete assembly. The device itself weighs 1594 grams, the extension tube is 329 grams, and the main nozzle is 958 grams. In total, in a complete assembly, the weight of the vacuum cleaner is 2881 grams, which is similar with most analogues. The slotted nozzle weight is only 1637 grams.
Testing
Operating time
And finally, let’s move on to the tests. First of all, let’s check the operating time of the Atvel G9 at maximum power with the main nozzle installed, which additionally consumes electricity to rotate the rollers and illuminates the cleaning area. So, in the Super mode, Atvel G9 was working 11.5 minutes, like most of the analogues. So there are no special complaints about the vacuum cleaner.
Noise level
As for the noise level, at Super mode it is in the range of 73-74 dB. In Auto mode, it increases to 78 dB, and at maximum power the peak value was 82 dB. The noise level is typical of a cordless vacuum cleaner with increased suction power.
Dry cleaning on laminate
Now let’s check how well the Atvel G9 collects litter from the floor. I put on a laminate litter with a different structure like: hair, wool, dust, cat food and filler. So Atvel G9 collects floor litter well. The only note is that due to the LED panels located on the sides, there is a problem with litter collection along the plinth and in the corners. The rollers simply do not physically reach these areas. But, if you run the nozzle along the plinth, the rollers can collect the litter. But in the corners, this cordless vacuum cleaner cannot picking up the litter, and this is the first disadvantage.
And here is the condition of the rollers after litter collection. As you can see, the back Bristle brush plays the main role. But in any case, it can be easily cleaned of hair and wool. Most of the litter is collected in the dustbin flask. Test passed successfully!
When it comes to cleaning carpets, the Atvel G9 did a good job here as well. It cleans the carpet well from litter of various structures.
It is worth talking about one important function of this vacuum cleaner – the nozzle is equipped with a special sensor, which automatically increases the suction power, when it detects the accumulation of dust on the floor. This function works when switching to automatic mode. It allows you to maintain usage of a battery power and increase power only where it is needed.
In addition, I will show you how the nozzle for cleaning mattresses and upholstered furniture copes with its task. With its help, I cleaned the upholstery of the sofa, and here is how much wool and dust got into the dust collector, although the sofa looked clean.
Suction power
And when it comes to suction power, the Atvel G9 is a really powerful cordless vacuum cleaner. He is able to suck out litter even from a 10 mm gap. Test passed successfully!
