Package
Let’s start with the equipment kit. Roidmi EVE Plus is packed in two boxes: one contains the robot itself, the second box contains a self-cleaning base.
The package includes:
- Power adapter for connecting the base to the network.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with attached microfiber cloth.
- Set of disposable mopping pads (10 pcs).
- Spare HEPA filter.
- Two spare bags for the base (with one already installed inside).
- Operating instructions and a quick start guide for the first start of the robot.
For me personally, there are still not enough spare side brushes in the package, but this is not critical. In general, for the first few months of operation, there are all the necessary consumables, which is a plus.
Design
Now let’s look how Roidmi EVE Plus is designed. It is made in white color with black accents. A lidar for navigation is installed in the center, wall sensors are placed on the mechanical bumper on both sides, and an obstacle detection sensor is placed in front.
By the way, the lidar itself is equipped with a mechanical button that protects against getting stuck under furniture. Next to the lidar we see three mechanical control buttons: forced return to the base for charging, start / pause and local cleaning mode.
The combined container for water and garbage is removable from behind. Inside we see a pump for electronic regulation of water supply. At the back there is an opening with a shutter for self-cleaning of the container on the base.
Access to the dustbin is provided by removing the HEPA filter. It also contains information for connecting the robot to the network. The dust collector itself is equipped with a shutter that prevents accidental spillage of debris when removing the container. The capacity of the dust container is 300 ml and the water tank is 250 ml.
Let’s see how Roidmi EVE Plus is designed from below. There are 4 fall protection sensors installed. This robot vacuum cleaner has two side brushes, they are three-beam, with pile brushes. Attached with screws.
The central brush is bristly-petal. The pile is quite dense, which is a plus. On both sides, the brush is disassembled for cleaning from wound hair and wool.
From the bottom, you can attach a nozzle for wet cleaning to the robot. Water enters the mopping pad through 3 holes. The mopping pad fastens with help of flypapers and pockets in front.
Now let’s look at the station itself. The garbage is sucked out through the soaking-up channel placed in front. The station itself has a recess for parking the robot. So, the robot takes up less space when parking at the station.
On the station we see the display. It displays information such as the self-cleaning countdown of the robot, the percentage of battery charge, as well as indicators that signal the condition of the station: a timely reminder to fill the dust bag, an error code when a malfunction occurs, and even an indication that the ionizer is turned on. It disinfects, according to the manufacturer.
Under the top cover is a bag and a tool for cleaning the dust container, as well as the central brush. The bag holds up to 3 liters of dry waste. This is enough for 1-2 months of operation of the robot vacuum cleaner. Under it there is a ventilation hole of the engine, which performs self-cleaning. The characteristics are quite standard, as for robot vacuum cleaners of the middle and premium segment. Let`s move on.
Functionality
Now let’s look at what Roidmi EVE Plus is capable of. It can be controlled both through Mi Home application, if you select the China region, and through the branded Roidmi mobile app. Here is the second option will be more interesting.
When I try to scan the QR code in the instructions for downloading the application, nothing happens, the code is not scanned. That`s why, I had to manually look for the Roidmi application in the app store. Registration was easy, but there is a tricky moment in the connection of the robot to the smartphone. If the smartphone does not find the robot after resetting the Wi-Fi, you need to manually select the robot’s network in the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone. And after that, select the router network in the settings and bind the robot vacuum cleaner to the home network. In general, there may be difficulties, but in any case, I think that you will figure out the connection. If not, write in the comments, I will help you.
So, in the application, on the main working panel we can see a built and saved cleaning map displayed, which the robot automatically zoned into rooms. First, let’s go through the basic settings. You can turn on options such as obstacle avoidance, turn off the indicator lights on the robot, turn on automatic power increase when driving on carpets, and set the “Do Not Disturb” mode at desired time.
As for the self-cleaning station, here you can also turn off the display, if necessary, as well as select the frequency of self-cleaning of the robot vacuum cleaner. If the area is small, it is not necessary that the robot self-cleans every time. In this way, you will extend the life of the engine in the station.
Roidmi EVE Plus can be configured to schedule cleaning by selecting suitable days of the week, time, cleaning mode, and even rooms if necessary. This is a plus.
In addition, the app can store data on past cleanings, you can adjust the volume and language of voice alerts.
Additional features include monitoring the status of consumables, remote control mode, changing the name of the robot, providing access to control to other users, as well as updating the firmware if necessary.
Now let’s talk about more important features. On the main operating panel, you can select one of the four main cleaning modes. These are automatic cleaning of the entire available area, selection of rooms for cleaning, separate zones, and even a point on the map where the robot can go to perform local cleaning of an area of 1.6 * 1.6 meters in size.
Under the map we see two rows of buttons. Let’s start from the top. Here you can see the notifications that the robot sends to your smartphone, force self-cleaning, adjust the suction power and water supply level, enable a double pass of the entire available area and, by the way, additionally Roidmi EVE Plus can move in a Y-shaped pattern, like a floor polisher, in wet mode.
When working with a map, which the robot can store several in memory, you can set up virtual walls, restricted areas, even separate ones for the wet cleaning mode, connect several rooms into one or vice versa, divide a room into several zones, rename rooms, set up a room cleaning sequence and even choose for each room an individual level of water supply and suction power. That`s great!
There are all the necessary functions for comfortable operation of the robot vacuum cleaner. So, in the end, there are no complaints about the functionality, and the application works well, no problems were found during testing.
Testing
Navigation
And finally, let’s move on to the tests. let’s check how Roidmi EVE Plus navigates in a room with obstacles. First, the robot passes the perimeter of the room. He fell into a trap with the legs of the dryer, but he was able to get out of it on his own, without reporting an error. After driving through the perimeter, Roidmi EVE Plus moved on to cleaning the entire available area with a snake move. Swept around all the legs of the chair and separately around the box. The double pass mode was chosen, so after the next pass of the entire area around the perimeter, the robot began to clean with a snake move in a perpendicular direction. Navigation at a high level. Test passed successfully!
There are also no complaints about navigation within the house. The robot passes room after room, first along the perimeter, and then as a snake. It took him only 26 minutes to clean the entire house, with a usable area of about 34 sq.m., which the robot for some reason calculated as 27. The cleaning speed is high, there are no uncleaned areas left. Another test passed successfully!
Suction power
As for the suction power, it is at the standard level. Roidmi EVE Plus can suck out debris from cracks no more than 2 mm deep, like its analogues with a declared suction power of no more than 2700 Pa.
Hard floor dry cleaning
But the quality of dry cleaning on the laminate is quite decent. Even though the robot scatters small debris a bit with the side brushes, in a double pass it can collect debris from the floor. And in the corners, it sweeps well, compared to other round robots.
Carpet cleaning
There are no complaints about the quality of carpet cleaning either. The robot cleans carpets very well thanks to its increased power and high-quality central brush.
Self-cleaning quality
And here is an interesting test that was requested by subscribers – how well the station cleans the container during self-cleaning. For this test, we filled up the dust container completely and sent it to the station. As we see, after self-cleaning, a significant part of the garbage remained in the container and a restart of self-cleaning is needed. From the second attempt, Roidmi EVE Plus almost completely self-cleaned, but still, it is not perfect. Keep that in mind.
But anyway, with a periodic operation, so much garbage will not be collected in the container and, so, the base will only need to clean once.

Mopping
The quality of wiping off dried dirt on the laminate is also above average. The robot removed all footprints and left no streaks. There is only a strip along the plinth, which robot vacuum cleaners are not able to scrub at the moment due to design features. At least when compared with all those that we had on the test.
The quality of wet cleaning is at a good level and a big plus is that Roidmi EVE Plus is able to simultaneously vacuum and mop the floor, as well as move along a Y-shaped path.
Passage of obstacles
With the passage of 2-centimeter sills, this robot copes well, so the passage ability is good.
Drive through dark surfaces
And here is what pleasantly surprised me – Roidmi EVE Plus is not afraid of dark surfaces, unlike all other robots of the Xiaomi family. This is an important advantage of the model!
Noise level
And finally, we measure the noise level of Roidmi EVE Plus in different modes. In polisher mode and at minimum power, it is in the range of 57-60 dB, in standard mode the noise level reaches 64 dB, and at maximum power, the peak value was almost 72 dB. Yes, this robot vacuum cleaner is noisy even though the suction power is standard.
Summing up
Roidmi EVE Plus was reviewed and tested in detail. The robot has recently appeared on the market, and problems such as a malfunction in the water supply to the mopping pad from the tank are already recognized – Roidmi EVE Plus stops supplying water and needs to be repaired. In addition, users complain that the robot sometimes does not find the base after the cleaning cycle, there are problems with navigation. Also problems with connecting to the application, as I experienced myself. And given the price, the build quality of this model will clearly be inferior to the same Roborock or Dreame. So as a result, the robot is quite interesting for its money, but it cannot be called the best yet, consider the pros and cons.
Advantages:
- Self-cleaning station.

But as for the disadvantages, I would like to highlight the following:
- Increased noise when operating at maximum power.
- The station does not suck out all the garbage from the dust collector at one time.
- Significant number of complaints about the robot from users.

As a result, only the last point is important for me personally, especially considering the experience of testing the twin Lydsto R1, which began to creak after a few days of testing. But, Roidmi Eve Plus will be a more interesting option to buy, choosing between these two models, and in general, with a budget of about $350-400, it is equipped with a large set of functions with competitive characteristics. So, I can only recommend a purchase in local stores or from trusted sellers, so that if a malfunction occurs, you can easily fix it and continue using the robot. By most parameters, this model gave a positive impression, and personally I had no complaints about it during testing. Now you must decide for yourself whether to take risks, given the information provided, or overpay for a more reliable robot.
