Hey guys, welcome back to RobotObzor! Today we have a new wet and dry vacuum cleaner to review – the Dreame H14 Dual. Like the previously released H12 Dual, it has vacuuming attachments, which makes it perfect for a thorough clean in your house. This isn’t the only highlight however. Engineers updated the build and design, adding the ability to wash the floor in a horizontal position, illuminating the cleaned area, adding increased suction power, improving the self-cleaning tech, and adding customization for your vacuum in their app! Overall, pretty significant updates, which will cost you around $700. Now, I’ll test Dreame in detail, highlight the pros and cons, and let you know what I think. Don’t forget to like and subscribe, and let’s get rolling!
Kit
Dreame H14 Dual came in this branded box:
Aside from the robot itself the kit includes:
- A base for charging and self-cleaning, as well as drying the roller.
- Accessory holder.
- A separate dirt-container.
- A turbobrush attachment for soft furniture.
- An attachment for cracks.
- A floor attachment.
- An extension tube.
- Coarse filter for the dirty water tank.
- A tool to clean the vacuum.
- An extra roller.
- An extra HEPA-filter.
- A bottle with cleaning detergent.
- An instruction manual.
The kit is very good, containing everything you would need to use this vacuum. Let’s keep going!
Appearance
Let’s take a look at how the vacuum is assembled. The vacuum itself has the familiar design I’m used to. At the bottom is a cleaning module. Above them are tanks for dirty and clean water. There is an extra tank for detergent. At the top is the handle for controlling the vacuum.
So the cleaning module is one roller, which comes out close to the edge of the case on both sides.
The top cover is removable. On it we can see teeth for untangling hair. But there is a very small gap between the cover and the roller, so there’s no contact. To remove the roller, just press the lock button. It attaches to a special holder with a rotating cross, and the roller itself is soft like usual. However, the manufacturer says it has silver ions inside to help fight germs and bacteria. Behind the roller, there’s a metal comb to remove hair, a suction hole, and a scraper to clean up liquids.
Like the Dreame H13 Pro, this model has a light to help you clean in dark areas.
What’s cool is that the vacuum’s wheels have motors, making it feel like it slides effortlessly across the floor. This feature is called GlideWheel.
Now let’s take a look at the other parts. The clean water tank holds 880 ml (29.7 oz.).
Inside is a water filter, as well as a water sterilization module, which sanitizes the water and kills bacteria. So in general, this module has at least two filters.
The dirty water tank hold 650 ml (22 Oz.) of water. It has two max water level markers: when vertical and when horizontal. So in the horizontal position the sensors are triggered at 450 ml (15 oz.). There is a HEPA filter with a mesh and coarse filter inside.
Above the clean water tank there is a tank for detergent, which is automatically mixed into the clean water. Its volume is 120 ml (4 Oz.).
On the back side is a button for disabling voice control and pairing the vacuum cleaner with the app. Under it, engineers have installed a gear to slide the vacuum into a horizontal position.
I’ll add here that thanks to the updated design, the vacuum cleaner can be used with the vacuum fully lowered to the floor. It slides freely through gaps of up to 14.5 cm (5.7 In.) until it rests with the handle on top of the body.
I should add that in the horizontal position, the suction doesn’t turn off like the previously reviewed Roborock Flexi Pro. This is very good.
There are three buttons on the handle: power on/off, switching modes and starting the self-cleaning. All of the information is shown on the display. The vacuum has 4 operating modes: automatic, disinfection mode, suction mode and custom mode, which is configured in the app.
In automatic mode, the vacuum independently adjusts the suction power depending on how dirty the floor is.
And here, in fact, the main trick of the vacuum cleaner – we press the button next to the display and take the main unit to itself, it detaches. We connect the trash bag and the necessary attachment- we get a full-fledged vacuum cleaner.
The vacuum has two buttons: one to turn it on/off, and another to switch between standard and max mode.
Now, let’s talk about the extra attachments. The main floor attachment comes with a light to illuminate the area the vacuum is cleaning. The roller on it has short bristle inserts, which work great for cleaning carpets but also do an awesome job picking up stuff on hard floors. Behind the roller, there’s a little brush that helps get rid of tangled hair and fur.
The upholstery attachment with a turbo brush is great for getting into cushions. The brush pops out for easy cleaning too. And for the dirt container, it has a HEPA filter, two foam filters, and a cyclone system.
Last thing is the base. This is where the Dreame H14 Dual charges, cleans its rollers with hot water, and dries them with warm air. I’ll cover the pros and cons of this design later, so let’s keep going!
Technical features
Dreame H14 Dual’s main features, as given by the manufacturer, are up on the screen:
- Battery Li-Ion, 4900 mA*h
- Power: 380 Wt
- Suction power up to 18000 Pa
- Work time: up to 40/70 mins
- Clean water tank: 880 ml (29.7 oz.)
- Dirty water tank: 650 ml (22 Oz.)
- Detergent tank 120 ml (4 Oz.)
- Self cleaning temp: 60C/140F
- Roller drying temp: 60C/140F
- Volume: 71-81 dB
- Weight: 6 kg / 2,9 kg. (13.2 lbs/6.3 lbs)
So, I personally checked out the volume on it. When you’re mopping the floor, it’s sitting at around 72-76 dB, and if you switch to the handheld vacuum, it goes up to 86 dB. It’s a bit louder, but that’s because the suction power is really high.
Now, let’s talk about the weight. The mopping vacuum, fully assembled, comes in at around 6 kg (13.2 lbs.). The vacuum is much lighter, at just under 3 kg (to be exact, 2896 grams/ 6.3 lbs.). The main unit itself is 1730 grams (3.8 lbs.), the extension tube adds 287 grams (.63 lbs.), and the floor attachment is 879 grams (1.9 lbs.). I also tested how long the vacuum runs on max power while just vacuuming, and it went for a solid 30 minutes and 30 seconds, which is pretty impressive!
Functions
Now, let’s focus on its features. This vacuum cleaner supports control via a proprietary mobile app. In it, you can flexibly customize the cleaning parameters. For example: select the cleaning mode and customize the settings for the user (such as suction power and amount of water on the roller). You can also customize the dryer rollers’ mode, create a schedule, adjust the amount of detergent to mix, adjust the wheel speed, monitor the water level and detergent amount, and select the language of the voice pack. Additionally, I would like to emphasize that Dreame H14 Dual supports voice commands in several languages.
Testing
And finally, let’s move on to the tests. Let’s check how well the vacuum copes with its main task. I’ll do a few tests, from simple to harder.
The Dreame H14 Dual does a good job of cleaning the floor on a daily basis. In automatic mode, it independently adjusts the suction power, depending on how dirty the floor is. Water is thoroughly sucked into the dirty water tank, leaving no streaks or puddles.
The vacuum can also pick up mixes, like eggs and flour in my case. This is very convenient!
The vacuum does a great job wiping away dirt without leaving any streaks. Plus, the Dreame H14 Dual can clean right up to the baseboards because its roller goes all the way to the edge on both sides. The “blind spot” is just about 5 mm (.19 In.), which is way better than most vacuums that have 15-20 mm (.59-.78 in.) gaps. But there’s still some room for improvement.
For tougher stains, it takes a bit more effort. In my case, it took about 6 minutes to scrub them off using the detergent that came with it. Not perfect, but still faster than other vacuums I’ve tried!
After all the tests, let’s check the self-cleaning quality, and here again, we’re not disappointed. It self-cleans itself from dirt very well. All thanks to the water heating and the fact that the roller rotates in different directions, which lets it clean better. Well and the most interesting thing is that even after such a difficult test the module is completely clean. There isn’t a speck on the tray or roller. Self-cleaning is very well realized in this model. The test passed successfully!
Drying is also very efficient, leaving the roller completely dry in just 30 minutes. Good job Dreame!
Let me show you how the Dreame H14 Dual vacuums when you use the extra attachments.
On max power, it sucked debris out of a 35 mm (1.3 In.) crack, which shows it’s pretty powerful—actually stronger than its competitor, the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo.
I tested it on laminate floors. I scattered across the floor hair, fur, cereal, and other small bits. Overall, it did a great job, but it struggled with bigger things like cat litter pellets since it doesn’t have special grooves for large dirt like the Dreame Z30. Hair and fur do get stuck on the roller, but it’s easy to clean off if it does.
Carpet cleaning is also done very wel, thanks to a suitable roller design. That’s a plus.
Well, and in conclusion, I will add that thanks to extra attachments, you can clean the sofa, clean where the main attachment won’t go and even if needed, clean the interior of the car. Overall, this vacuum is a jack of all trades.
Opinion
Today, we’ve thoroughly reviewed and tested the wet and dry vacuum – Dreame H14 Dual. I’ll combine the pros and cons, and let you know what I think about the vacuum at the end. I liked the following:
- Quality floor vacuuming and dirt scrubbing.
- Cleans the floor along the baseboard better than many brands.
- Quality self-cleaning roller with hot water.
- Full and very fast drying of the roller with hot air.
- Can be tilted to a fully horizontal position. And the suction is not turned off.
- Auto-mixing of detergent.
- Availability of a detachable hand vacuum cleaner and a set of attachments for full-fledged dry cleaning.
- Quality debris collection on both hard surfaces and carpets
- Realistically high suction power, both in numbers and from testing.
- Automatically increases power when dirt is detected.
- The vacuum’s cleaning area is lit up.
- Long battery life.
- The wheels have motors for better control and literally glide the vacuum cleaner across the floor. Its pretty much weightless.
- Informative LED display on the body.
- Flexible settings in the app.
- Two levels of disinfection: in the clean water tank and in the roller material itself.
- Voice alerts in several languages.
- Increased water tank capacity.
- Quality assembly.
- Stylish design.
- Full kit.
- Warranty and service available.
As for what could be better, it’s just small remarks. But nevertheless, here they are:
- A small gap remains near the edge of the body and the wall.
- The main floor attachment for vacuuming can’t pick up large dirt.
- The battery can’t be detached.
All in all, this is my favorite vacuum for 2024. It’s effective, universal, easy to use, smart, and stylish – not to forget the brand’s credibility. I full heartedly recommend this, if you need a wet and dry vacuum with attachments. On this note, I’d like to end the review. Please leave any questions you may still have in the comments down below.
